Kirk’s influence on the Queensland speedway scene spanned from juniors through to scrutineering and treasurer of RSCC.
Kirk was responsible for several junior drivers continuing in the sport through to the senior ranks. From setups and set up advice, fixing pranged cars (there were a few by his girls), manufacturing wheel alignment tooling and keeping people motivated, Kirk made sure as many cars could take to the track as possible.
Kirk’s approachable and calm demeanour made new people to the club and sport feel welcome and supported.
Kirk is dearly missed not only as husband and a father, but as a member of our race community. Rockhampton Saloon Car Club, CQ AMCA’s and QSCA are forever thankful for Kirk’s dedication to the sport.
